C.E.P.T.A. Meeting - Talk on the East Penn School District proposed Budget for 2013-2014‏

Received this invite via email and am just passing the info along. I plan to attend.

(The Concerned East Penn Taxpayers Association will host) an informational program about the East Penn School District (EPSD) preliminary budget for the 2013-2014 school year presented by School Board Director Lynn Donches. Unlike previous years, this year, the East Penn School District has decided to not seek exceptions that would allow the district to go above the Pennsylvania State mandated maximum tax increase of 1.7%. The preliminary budget has set the starting point for the tax increase at a 1.69%. During the School Board meeting where the budget was initially presented, the Superintendent stated that he feels confident this 1.69% tax increase will be lower by the time the final budget is approved. The presentation will use actual beginning and ending year historical information from previous school budgets to analyze trends, show patterns and look at the direction EPSD may be headed. This program is designed to find out what questions and concerns are on the mind of the public as this year's budget is finalized. Come out and provide your input.
You can go to to find out info on this event and see videos of our previous programs.

The event will take place on Tuesday, April 16th at the Fire Company at 6th and Broad St. in Emmaus. Doors open at 7pm.
